In July 2022, Honeywell was proud to sponsor the annual Indigenous Australian Engineering School in Sydney.
The Indigenous Australian Engineering School (IAES) is an annual event, established by Engineering Aid Australia (a non-profit organisation). The IAES is conducted in Sydney by the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Engineering on behalf of Engineering Aid Australia.
The school offered a challenging and exciting week of fun activities to help the students discover how amazing engineering really is. The most important part of the week was for the students to meet real engineers in the industry. That’s where Honeywell came in.
Students spend the day at the Sydney Opera House discovering how Honeywell’s Building Management Systems operates the building and supports the house in achieving its sustainability goals. Throughout the day the students got a tour of the iconic building, followed by time with our engineers to see what a typical day for a Honeywell engineer looks like. This was followed up by a networking dinner where students spent time with our graduates discussing engineering choices at university, what university life is like, and career opportunities post-study.
